Speaking of Cake

Today Williams-Sonoma wants me to buy:

A Sandcastle Bundt Cake.
Create instant fun at summer parties when you present a cake shaped like a sandcastle. With our Sandcastle Bundt® Cake Pan, you can bake your own detailed beach castle, and even have it sit in its own "sand" of raw sugar.
No offense or anything, but who has time for this? Was society as a whole somehow lacking because they didn't have the tools necessary to bake a Sandcastle Cake? And in the interest of fairness, I want a Volcano Blueberry Pie pan, because in a head-to-head battle, a Volcano Blueberry Pie victory would be...you know...a piece of cake.

LOL I like it though. But your pie sounds *tastier*.

How in the hell would you get the cake out of the pan? Is it one of those silicone pans? I think that's the cutest thing ever, but I know mine would come out looking like the bully already kicked it over.

Oh, I dunno. I think the sand castle cake is really cute. And if you greased the pan really, really well, you'd probably have no problem getting the cake out. Let's chip in, get the pan and try it out!

Now, I would like to see the blueberry volcano erupt all over the bundt sandcastle, leaving a very tasty disaster...

Happy 43rd birthday (5/21), Ms. Tuna. Hope you have many more and that you enjoyed your fondue treat.

I received this thing as a gift. It is coated with silicone, and one greases and flours the pan with extrafine (gravy) flour before filling.

I used this pan to make the first of 24 cakes to use as table centerpieces for my daughter's beach theme wedding. I sprayed the pan with the cooking spray with flour and had no trouble getting the cake out. I found the recipe that came with the pan too dry and bland so will try some other bundt cake recipes. The pan cleans easily.
