Keepers and Weepers

On tonight's episode of household hide-and-seek I'm playing find the CD.  Sadly the game isn't find ANY CD.  That game I would win at the opening bell.  No, I am playing advanced household hide-and-seek, and therefore must find one specific CD.  Among hundreds.  Scattered.  Hiding.  All. Over. The. Place.

Luckily I know for a fact I have seen this particular CD in the past three months.  Knowing this helps me guess the approximate stratum within various piles in the playing field.  I know vaguely where it should be, and I also know where it might be, should it not be where it should have been in the first place.  Difficulty is factored in, however, because I have been putting things away in fits and starts, and a CD falls squarely in the category of something that just might have been picked up and put in the vicinity of away.

Please note:  Vicinity in no way, shape or form means "exactly where."   In fact, "vicinity" might only refer to a particular room within the house. Or an entire floor of a house.  It's all relative.

Please also note:  Any persons making reference to or passive-aggressive (helpful) suggestions including the phrase "a place for everything and everything in its place" will suffer instant, permanent, eternal and probably redundant banishment from this game.  If you have to resort to the old "if you would have put it away the first time, then you'd know where it is now" then you're just not very nice, and you should go play tea party with neat people.

Logic tells me it should be very close by, on my desk.  Or on my dresser with a pile of other CDs waiting to return to the basement.  The desk is a bit messy, but it's self-contained and not terribly big.  Bonus points because this playing field is a manageable size.  Demerit points because the playing field is shared by the computer which means instant distraction.  It's hard to stay focused on the search when there is email to read, blogs to write and the siren call of Facebook that means to distract and delay.  Bonus points because there is a trash can at my feet and a shredder 4 feet away.  I can search my desk and toss and shred at the same time.  Demerit points because it's cold here.  Bonus points because

Well, eleventy bajillion bonus points because I just found it.
Oh man, that's AWESOME.

Now what should we talk about?
