MONDAY MINUTIAE

Today I'm playing cleanup batter for my own blog. There are several odds and ends to mention. None earth-shattering, because hey, it's Monday and it's 9 AM. There better not be anything important happening at the moment.

It's spring break at good ole TunaU. This news is wonderful, shoulder-shrugging and cringe-worthy all at the same time. Spring break is wonderful because the students are gone, meaning we have a snowball's chance of getting some work done because traffic is much lighter this week. It's a shrug because do I get a week's vacation? Heck no. While students are looking for their lost shaker of salt in Margaritaville, I'm main-lining Diet Coke as I begin excavation on my desk. Of course, the bad news is we see a big pick up in community and foreign student usage. Both groups of people tend to be extra needy, and interpretive dances are often required when explaining the system up here. The best news this week is that parking is a breeze, and the kingdom (downtown TunaVille) has been returned to its citizens.

I see Mheh is off on a team-building excursion today. I've never had a job where they took us out on a field-trip just for fun. Universities don't believe in fun. Oh sure, there are perks. I get free dinosaur-speed dial-up connection to the Internet, and I will never have an over-due library book as long as I work here. It's not exactly drinking, gambling and world domination, but it's something, right? Oh, I forgot. Teas. We get teas.

Finally, Fabio the Fahhbulous seems to be doing quite fine, for a bunny. Actually, I'm quite convinced that he is a pig in a bunny suit, because this boy sure can eat! BSTuna assures me that eating is good, and so long as what goes in comes out (yes, he excels here as well) then everything is fine. I can't relate any particular stories about personality traits Fabio the Fahhbulous may or may not possess. Those sorts of tales will have to come from TinyTuna, who so far swears that the bunny was sad until she found him, and then smiled at her in the car once we brought him home. Uh, yep.

More later.
