Mind Meld

I have now officially seen one grown up movie with Oscar Nominations.

More surprising than that?
It was a Jim Carrey movie.

Even more surprising that that?
I liked it. I really did.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
2005 Oscar Nominations:
Best Actress (Kate Winslet)
Best Original Screenplay.

It seemed to be the perfect alternative to the State of the Union Address because really, I can only stand one weasel per day in the media. So watch out, fellow Oscar poolers -- GreenTuna is catching up on her cinematic viewing!

I still haven't seen this movie, but I'm told Jim Carrey was really good. He's one of those people, I think, who is either amazing, or pathetic, in films - never just okay.

Oh - and re: your comment in my blog - It's Rite I with music, at least. I don't mind the formal structure.

Much respect,

Jim Carrey? Oh, so you went to see Lemony Snickett!?

heh heh. I liked him in Bruce Almighty and Truman, but maybe that was just the script and not so much him.

Lemony Snicket? Why of course! As the mother of a 10 year old (halfway through book number oh, 8, I think now) it was required viewing. Jim Carrey was ok. His over the top acting worked ok in this one. Didn't love him, didn't hate him. Guess I just accepted him. I'd like to see Truman...I understand that was pretty good.
